Eyes Wide Open…odd symptom of facial pain..

In the last couple of months, another symptom that I used to have has come back with a vengeance. I am unable to keep my eyes shut! I try to force them to close but it causes more pain when I do. and they just pop back open again.

Unfortunately, it is quite an odd thing to try and explain to doctors

I seemed to have forgotten to try to explain it to Dr. EL-SAID (current neurologist) 🤔

However, I did attempt to explain it back in the day with Dr. Luis Hurtado. His solution was to write me a prescription for Baclofen (a muscle relaxer)

I suppose dr. Hurtado thought it was some type of muscle problem in my face causing the issue.

However, that doesn’t seem like the case 🤔

Unfortunately, as with all my other symptoms, I am at a loss! (and it certainly has been affecting my sleep)

That sounds awful. Have you tried a sleep mask? When I worked overnights (and had to sleep during the day), they worked well

Hey there again 😀 I do have a sleep mask, but my eyes still keep popping open! So weird!

That is strange. I tried Baclofen for my face. By the time I had enough to make a difference, it was giving me hallucinations. I was afraid to go to sleep

Hey there..yes, I didn’t have hallucinations. But I just couldn’t handle the medication. I could only take a half a pill 💊 and that didn’t make much of a difference. I hope you don’t mind if I ask you something about your teeth again during your TN flare-up. How long did you say you went without being able to brush them?

        Several weeks. Maybe three months?
